Behind the lens is a mom to two boys, a wife to my favorite person, Jake, and a girl who has always been deeply rooted in agriculture.
I’m also a kidney transplant recipient — a journey that taught me resilience, gratitude and just how quickly life can change. It gave me an even deeper appreciation for the people we love, the seasons we’re in and the seemingly ordinary moments that become the ones we wish we could hold onto forever.
Most days, you’ll find me behind the camera, in the barn with Jake and the boys, or chasing golden hour. Growing up in agriculture taught me to appreciate hard work, genuine relationships, tradition and the people who make a community what it is. Those values shape the way I photograph.
Whether it’s a wedding, senior, family, newborn or livestock session, my goal is simple: to create images that feel like you. Real, genuine and full of the moments you’ll want to remember.
I believe photography is about more than pretty pictures. It’s about preserving the people, places and seasons of life that matter most.
I’m honored every time someone trusts me to tell their story, and I hope the photographs we create together take you right back to how it felt to be there.
Because we don’t get to keep every moment — but we can hold onto a little piece of them.

Meet Megan Jo

I love showing you how beautiful the little things are.

how it started

My journey into photography began in agriculture, where I picked up a camera as a kid and quickly fell in love with telling stories through images. In college, I dove deeper into photography, and after graduation, I traveled across the country photographing livestock shows while refining my skills and discovering my style.
At 24, when kidney disease brought me back to a crossroads, I made the decision to prioritize my health while continuing to pursue the passion that had followed me for years. With the support of my family and my husband, Jake, I took a leap of faith and launched Megan Jo Photography from home.
What started with a camera, a love for agriculture and a dream has grown into so much more than I ever imagined. Today, I’m a mom to two boys, still deeply rooted in agriculture, and incredibly grateful for every client who trusted me in the beginning and helped shape Megan Jo Photos into what it is today.
The business may have grown, but the heart behind it hasn’t changed.
